ABOUT AOIFE
The Association of Irish Festivals and Events (AOIFE) has been representing the not for profit festivals and events sector in Ireland for 31 years, making sure communities continue to produce unique, quality, and safe festivals and events in all places. Providing support, professional development, services, advocacy, and networking while fostering a community of passionate people invested in the festival and event industry, AOIFE strives to deliver membership benefits that help support the growth of the sector.
Our broad based membership includes festivals, events, local authorities, third level campuses, venues, Community Development Associations, Chambers of Commerce, and everyone in between! Each member contributes to our growing community of people who know what it’s like to run successful festivals and events. Together with AOIFE our members have an active role in the growth of the festival and event sector.

OUR BACKGROUND & MISSION
A.O.I.F.E. was established in 1993 as an association that through training, networking, and advocacy of best practice helps the not for profit community festival and event sector reach their local and international goals.
Our structures are modelled on our U.K. cousin networks – BAFA, ISAN, AFO, TESSA, NOEA, the North Americans – such as Calfest, Texasfest, Georgia Festivals, Florida Festivals and Events.
We are the State Collective member of EFA (European Festivals Association) – allowing our membership direct access to most of the member benefits of a family alliance of over 12,000 European Festivals. We are the EU Commission supported “Festivals For Europe, Europe For Festivals” Hub delivering the Festivals of Europe Awards and Labelling scheme and the EU Festival Finder.
We host the Secretariat and management of IFEA Europe – the regional affiliate of the World Festivals Association based in Boise, Idaho.
We are recognised by the Government of the Republic and Northern Ireland Assembly Executive and their respective departments and relevant agencies.
We have an Honorary International Affiliate membership for all Irish and Celtic Festival producers.
